As B.R. Guest Restaurants Director of Wine and Spirits, Laura Maniec is responsible for the purchasing and selection of all alcoholic beverages for 15 restaurants across the country including New York City, Chicago and Las Vegas. She is also the director of education for B.R. Guest Wine College where she executes the training of 1,000 employees. Laura's uses her passion and enthusiasm to inspire her guests and staff to learn and develop a love for wine. She also makes time to teach regularly at the French Culinary Institute and holds weekly blind tasting groups with other New York City sommeliers.
Pursuing a career in wine is something she always thought of doing and at 22 she earned Best New Sommelier of the Year from Wine and Spirits Magazine, 2003.
She has successfully completed her Advanced Sommelier Exam from the Court of Master Sommeliers and is currently studying to become a Master Sommelier, a distinction held by only a handful of women in the United States.
